To His Majesty's Charge ¡¡Affaires, Peking

July 7, 1920.
With reference to Sir Beilby Alston's letter No.4236/20 June the 7th,, 1920, on the subject of alleged Chinese activities the United States of America directed against British rule in Coloby, I have the honour to inform you that there appears
be no reason whatever for imagining that any active movement of
kind suggested is contemplated against this Government.
Should
a movement exist this Government is confident that it would with little sympathy from the inhabitants of this Colony and full information would be forthcoming concerning it.
The Government is not disposed therefore, to attach any rtance to the statements of Mr. H.L.Carr of Chicago.
I have the honour to be,
sir,
Your most obedient, servant,
(sd.) R.E.Stubba.
Governor, &c.
